How Banyen works

The feature map — all of it.

Four movements: Banyen notices, you respond, your board understands, and the foundation holds. Everything below is in the live demo.

notice
Movement I

Banyen notices — every night, unprompted.

Your Monday page The Chen family — first gift Sunday The Okafors — quiet for 6 weeks M. Delgado — unusual gift, memo attached

The Monday list

One list, every week: the families worth a shepherd's attention right now. It's the center of the product — everything else feeds it or acts on it. Open Banyen Monday; the list is there.

First gift → second gift first gift second gift the fragile crossing — tracked

First-time givers & first-to-second tracking

Every first gift surfaced the week it lands, with the thank-you already drafted — because nationally only 1 in 5 first-time givers ever gives twice (FEP, Q4 2024). Banyen tracks your church's own first-to-second rate, so you see whether your follow-up is working.

A faithful rhythm, breaking flagged here — weeks early

Drift noticing

Every household has its own rhythm — weekly, monthly, seasonal. When a faithful family's rhythm quietly breaks, Banyen flags it while a caring call can still reach them. Pastors know: a broken giving rhythm is often the first visible sign of a family in a hard season.

Gift: 40× usual amount memo: "for the youth trip" → a personal word, from a person

Unusual-gift flagging

The gift far outside a family's pattern, the memo line worth reading, the milestone of quiet faithfulness — flagged for a personal response, never an automated one. Banyen prepares; you decide.

Major-giver care rhythm The Whitfields · last touchpoint: 47 days ago R. & T. Osei · thanked at year-end · call due LOG A TOUCHPOINT →

Major-giver workflow

The handful of families carrying the most weight deserve intentional care, not autopilot. Banyen keeps your major-giver list, a touchpoint log, and a call rhythm — who's been personally thanked, who's overdue for one, when you last connected. Gratitude, kept on schedule.

respond
Movement II

You respond — your way.

Pastor Jim

Letters, emails — or just the name and the story

For every family on the list, the response is already drafted: a letter on your letterhead (batch-print with matching Avery labels), an email, or simply the who-and-why for your own phone call. Banyen drafts; the how stays yours. A first gift says "I want to belong here" — a receipt is not an answer.

→ ✉ printed & mailed for you — only your church on the envelope

Mailed for you

Prefer not to print? Select the letters and they're produced and mailed on your letterhead, your return address on the envelope, price shown before you confirm. Families only ever see your church — Banyen's name appears nowhere on anything a family receives.

Every household's year-end statement — minutes, not a January of folding.

Year-end statements

The same records that power Monday produce every household's tax statement — generated in minutes, batch-printed or mailed for you. For most churches this feature alone gives January back.

understand
Movement III

Your leaders understand — in plain English.

12-month shape · participation · consistency · concentration

Giving analysis & trends

Your congregation's numbers, always explained — Banyen tells you why something was flagged in a sentence a person can repeat. No black boxes, no charts that need a translator.

The Chen family · first-time · consistent $ ●●●●● (hidden) amounts: hidden

Hide-the-amounts mode

Some pastors hold a conviction: shepherd the people, never see the dollars. One switch honors it — names, rhythms, and needs stay visible; amounts disappear. We believe Banyen is the only tool in the category built around that conviction.

Giving trend +4.2% · 12 months no family names in presentation mode

Board Meeting Mode

One tap becomes a full-screen presentation for the elder meeting — trend, participation, first-to-second rate, drift counts, and your numbers against the national picture. No family names on screen, ever — a projector is not a pastor's private page. A print one-pager comes from the same button.

foundation
Movement IV

The foundation holds.

Where the lines are drawn

Link, or upload — always. Link your giving system and Banyen stays current nightly; or drop in any export with a name, an amount, and a date. We name a system as "integrated" in our marketing only after a real church has synced two consecutive weeks — until then, connections simply work quietly in the app.

Human approval, always. Nothing reaches a family — letter, email, or mail — without a person choosing to send it. There is no automatic mode. That's a design decision, not a setting.

Invisible to families, always. Everything a family receives carries only your church's name. And your data is yours — the plain-language Data Covenant says exactly how records are handled, stored, and deleted.
