Where this started

What I saw from the inside.

I've served on staff at several of the largest churches in America — and I saw what faithful stewardship looks like when a church has the tools for it. Generosity wasn't guesswork; it was watched, measured, and shepherded. We knew when a family gave for the first time, and someone thanked them that week. We knew when a faithful giver went quiet, and someone checked in — not about money, about them. We knew our numbers, and it changed how we led.

Then I looked at the churches most of my friends pastor — churches of 150, 400, 800 — and realized they'd never been given those tools. Not because their people are less generous, and not because anyone did anything wrong — the tools that make generosity visible were simply built for large teams and large budgets. Most churches were left to shepherd from memory.

Every church deserves the tools to steward generosity well — and to watch it grow.

Because here's what happens without them: a family drifts and no one notices for six months — not from lack of love, but from lack of sight. A first-time giver never hears thank you. A widow's thirty years of quiet faithfulness is never once acknowledged. These aren't failures of the pastor's heart. They're gaps in the pastor's toolkit.

And here's the conviction underneath all of it: intentional generosity stewardship is the answer to most of the problems in church giving. Too many churches only get serious about generosity when they need to raise money for something — a building, a budget gap, a campaign. By then, the culture that funds those moments has been left untended for years. Generosity isn't a lever you pull when you need it; it's a rhythm you keep every single week — thanking the first-time giver, noticing the quiet season, honoring the faithful.

So I built the toolkit for the weekly rhythm — the same watching, the same care, the same discipline I saw bless people at scale, made simple enough for a church office of one and priced so any church can say yes. Upload your giving history, and Monday morning tells you who needs you this week.

What we believe

Convictions we've built into the product.

Generosity is a weekly rhythm, not a campaign.

Most giving problems trace back to the same root: generosity gets attention only when the church needs to raise money. Banyen is built for the opposite — a steady weekly practice of noticing, thanking, and shepherding, so the culture is already strong long before any big ask. Stewarded weekly, generosity doesn't need rescuing.

Giving data is pastoral, not financial.

Behind every line of a giving report is a family — a story, a season, sometimes a struggle. Banyen treats the data the way a shepherd would: as a reason to reach out, never a reason to pressure.

Flat pricing, published in the open.

We will never price on your giving volume — a bill that grows because generosity grew is a tax on the very thing you're building. What we charge is on the pricing page, for everyone, always.

The coaching belongs inside the software.

You shouldn't need a consultant to understand your own church. Every number in Banyen carries a plain-language note on why it matters and how you compare — the interpretation is built in.

Honest numbers or no numbers.

Every benchmark we show is sourced from published research. Where a measure is our own invention, we say so plainly. And your data is never sold, shared, or used for anything but serving your church.

Why "Banyen"?

The banyan tree grows differently than every other tree. Its branches send roots down — and where they touch the ground, they become new trunks. One tree becomes a grove; the oldest cover acres. That's the vision: generosity that doesn't end with one faithful generation, but roots the next. One generation roots the next.
